Continuous carbonization furnaces are particularly suitable for the carbonization of powdered materials, such as sawdust, wood shavings, and rice husks. There isn't a significant advantage to using a continuous furnace for the carbonization of whole logs, as logs cannot be directly carbonized using a continuous furnace. They need to undergo a prior carbonization process. Continuous carbonization furnaces have a requirement for raw materials to have a particle size within 2 centimeters.
Wood processing factories, furniture manufacturing plants, and landscaping companies generate materials such as wood chips and sawdust, which can be directly subjected to carbonization. However, larger materials like tree branches, offcuts, and wood waste require preliminary shredding using a crusher before being carbonized in a sawdust carbonization furnace.
Wood chips with higher moisture content need to be dried using a drying machine before carbonization. The heat source for drying is the high-temperature exhaust gas from the main carbonization chamber, eliminating the need for additional heating sources.
The primary output of wood chip carbonization is wood charcoal powder. This wood charcoal powder can be sold directly or used in the production of barbecue charcoal sticks, charcoal briquettes, charcoal-based fertilizers, activated carbon, and hookah charcoal.
The main body of the carbonization furnace consists of an inner and outer double-layered cylinder structure. During operation, the material first enters the inner cylinder for preheating and drying treatment. Subsequently, it moves into the outer cylinder where the heat source is located. The outer cylinder, made of 310S stainless steel, is directly heated in the central high-temperature zone, reaching temperatures around 700 degrees Celsius.
After preheating and drying, the material gradually undergoes thermal cracking and carbonization reactions as it passes through the high-temperature zone in the outer cylinder. The carbonization machine utilizes a variable frequency speed-regulating motor, allowing for real-time adjustment of the cylinder's rotational speed. This adjustment helps control the carbonization temperature and duration of the material.
